Self-care tips

This is a look at my self-care on Saturday afternoons. I never learned how to take good care of myself when I was a kid and young adult. As an adult child of an alcoholic creating the life I want, I know the importance of self-care.  This is a look how I unwind on Saturdays and take good care of myself by doing what is good for my mind and body.

My self-care Saturday looks like this:

  1. Berry smoothie for breakfast

Ingredients:

  • Frozen organic strawberries, raspberries & blueberries
  • Organic honey
  • Almond milk
  • Almond toppings
  1. Gratitude journal.

I jot down everything I’m grateful for in my life. This has been a life changer for me since I started doing it every morning a few months ago. It shapes my mindset for the day.

  1. Writing.

  2. Hanging out with Rocco, my dog and Larry, my cat.

  3. Writing again.

  4. Library visit to pick up books for the week.

  5. Walking at the park with Rocco.

Parks are treasures.

  1. Reading.

  2. Walking 5 miles while watching The Office.

  3. Face mask.

  4. Going to bed at a decent hour.

I hope you are well. May the Saturday that you dream of today be reality one day, if it is not here today. 10 years ago, I didn’t believe I’d have a Saturday like this.

Everything is possible.
